hello again

hello to the readers of my poor old blog..i know i promised to post more once I'm in Kampar, but thing is i have no internet connection there..apologies...

well, nothing much has been going on, coz Kampar is so dead.....seriously..there's nothing to do there..the irony is, i have more freedom there but there's nothing to do, compared to i have no freedom in Klang but there are so many things i can do..haha..

I tell everyone, Kampar is such a quiet place that you can walk blindfolded in the middle of the road and nothing will happen to you..unless you get hit by a stray cow or bull, but thats another story entirely..haha

well, one thing did happen though..last wednesday (28th may) was the first time i donated blood..we had a blood donation drive in our uni..i was scared at first, but in the end i held my breath, suck my guts and went for it..it wasnt that bad..juts what happened after that....

i didnt know that once you donated, you needed to eat immediately after that..the nurse gave me a packet of milo, an orange and a piece of cake..i knew i had to eat them (duh) but didnt realise it should be consumed immediately..so i took the plastic bag of food, went up the stairs to the DSA office, and suddenly i felt lightheaded..i felt like pucking so i swallowed my saliva..then suddenly everything went black..i opened my eyes, and everything was yellow in colour..thank God my friend was with me (thanks so much crystal! you're the best) and she helped me walk to the nearest chair, sat me down and made me eat my food..haha..after that i felt so much better.

went to CF on wednesday..there were about 25-30 of us..my first time evr going to a CF..never been to one in my school days..praise and worship was fun..learnt a new song..with actions..it was pretty hillarious..haha..but i enjoyed myself..after that we had some sort of Bible study..on Jeremiah 35..not bad..considering it's my first time..

the bus ride back home was at least 5 hours..so tired once i got back..now im also feeling my eyes drooping..think it's time to hit the sack..will update more once i get internet connection..

God bless ya'll! =)

Youth Camp 2007

Camp was the BOMB man!! The message was good, the praise and worship sessions were AWESOME!! God really brought us to a new n higher level of worship..and looking back, we were like the little ones waiting for others to impact us, whereas now we're the ones taking that first step, initiating things and impacting the lives of others..it was so good man!

I was kinda not looking forward to being the leader of a group, considering I had exams and practices to think about..not to mention I only knew that i was gonna be a leader the day before the camp *cringe* I was totally not prepared..this camp is one of the camps that I was really unprepared for..excited yes, prepared no..get what I mean?

Well, anyway, I was kinda asking God, 'Why You put me as a leader this time? Assistant ok lar, but why leader? So many things to think about dy...' (I really thank God that I can just be myself before Him and just talk to Him like a friend, coz He is)..well, the theme for this camp was 'Chosen Generation', so I guess God had a purpose for me..a reason for choosing me out of the crowd..

So I came to a place where I came to the end of myself and just said, 'God, it's up to You..use me, speak through me', and guess what? HE DID! Praise the Lord..I was kinda apprehensive bout leading the devotion in the morning..it was one hour, and the material was kinda short, and I didnt have time to prepare, so ya...but in the end, the devotions went great! Im so glad my members learn a lot during the devotion..it really wasnt me speaking using my own wisdom, but God speaking through me, enabling me to impart something into the lives of the young ones in my group..mind you, Im not boasting bout myself; Im boasting in the Lord..God is just so good..ask, and you shall receive..ask for wisdom, and you get wisdom..all His promises are Yes and Amen, ya?=)

Anyway, the devotion was a wonderful time of just seeking the Lord and learning bout His love and grace..I really think it's high time for the church to realise that we are no longer under law but under grace..it's no longer bout us doing good to get good things from God, but rather because we accepted Christ, when God sees us God sees Jesus, and because He sees Jesus, He sees perfection every way He turns, and thus we receive the blessings of God..it's no longer by what we do but by what Jesus did on the cross for us..that's what grace is..undeserved favour..we didnt do anything to deserve the good thing that God has for us, but because of what Jesus did on the cross for us, a perfect sacrifice, that we can freely receive God's blessings THROUGH Him..not by our own efforts but by Jesus' blood..(oh man, I feel so excited just sharing this man..lol)

Ya well, anyway, even though I have yet to share on radical grace, for I am still learning, there has already been someone who has told me, "better be careful when you talk bout grace like that..after people think that 'oh, God already forgave me of all my sins, so when I sin oso never mind"..HELLO!!WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS PEOPLE!! Im not saying it's ok to sin..Im not saying 'sin so that grace may abound'..NO WAY MAN! When you fully know the grace of God, it will help you to 'go and sin no more'..when you know wat Jesus went through for you, when you know how much He loves you, what will wanna make you sin? There's VICTORY in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ, Hallelujah! (oh man, im sharing myself happy now..hahahaha!!)

In the Bible there's a story bout a lady who committed adultery, and the people caught her in the act..under the law, you have to stone that person to death. The elders and the priests wanted to trap Jesus, so they asked Him, 'Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?' (NIV) They kept pestering Him till He said, 'If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.' Slowly one by one they left..when Jesus looked up, there's no one else there..then He asked her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' and she answered 'No one, sir'..then He said, 'Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin.' There was first No Condemnation before there was the strength to 'go and leave your life of sin'..that's what grace does..it gives you the power to overcome sin when you know there is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus..

Haha..I just realised I went so far off topic..was supposed to be talking bout the camp, eh?Hahaha..thats wat happened during the devotion..talk and talk till I lost track of time..the one hour seemed like 10 mins..and praise the Lord, I wasnt the only one who felt that way..my members oso didnt seem to realise that the time just flew by..

Talking bout my members....I love all of them to bits man..they are so precious to me, even though I only got to know most of them for 4 days..yet, I feel so connected to them..even though we're from 4 different churches, but all of us are under One Name, One God, One Authority, One Kingdom..so there was unity..thank God for my darling members..Melissa, Cheryl, Janice, Fang Yi, Joshua, Andy, Jeremy, Charstion (did I spell it right?=S), Lily, Bethany...I LOVE YOU GUYS LOADS!! I really thank God for placing all of you in my life..God has great plans for you, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). All of you have such great potential in you, and such energy..channel it for the glory of God, amen?=)

My assistant leader....Joshua..I've grown to be so fond of you..like my little brother..even in those 4 days, I've seen you grow so much..fills my heart with pride and joy (man I sound like a mother..lol)..I know that God has a great purpose for you in life..keep on shinning and live life full of the love of Christ..remember that there is nothing that you cant handle with God by your side..the devil may try and rob you of the things that you have received in the camp, but always remember that as a child of God, we are more than conquerors, yeah? Jesus has already crushed the head of the serpent, and as we are in Him, He has put all things under our feet as well, amen?=)

Hahaha..I'm really sharing myself happy man..lol..

K k..I'm pretty sure you all have heard enough..lol..pics will be up soon, k? Hope you all who read this have been blessed..love you all loads! Jesus loves=)

Lead me to the cross

LEAD ME TO THE CROSS-Hillsong United

Saviour I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
You are
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart

---------------------------------

I absolutely love the lyrics of this song..reminds me bout the great love that Jesus has for us, that He was willing to die a shameful and painful death on the cross for us..knowing that He bought us with His blood as a ransom, and that I belong to Him..even when the world crashes down on me, I am always safe in His everlasting arms of love..

Lately, I've been feeling really dry and stiff..lost the sense of being a beloved of God...but after listening to this song, it refreshed me so..that sense of God's great and perfect love for me just swept over me as I was listening to the song..gave me a fresh sense of His love for me that I really needed..

When I wake up every morning, I sit on my bed and just think of His love for me, before I do anything else..just be still, feel His wings cover me and let the warmth of His love envelop me..it's a great way to start the day..and I found that it really brings a spring to my step, and joy fills my heart..I mean, how can you not be filled with joy knowing that Someone paid the price for you, a ransom for your salvation?Knowing that you're safe from everything the devil can dish out at you...it just put things in perspective you know?

Well, hope you have been blessed..Jesus Loves! =)

Check it out..Save the rhinos!!

After a long LONG hiatus, I'm finally back..I wont be consistent, mind you..so what initiated my want to blog again?

Thanks to Cherrie's blog..read bout the Sumatra rhino's, and I too, like her, have a soft spot for animals and the environment..to the extent that every time I see someone doing open air burning or throwing rubbish out of their car window, I feel like going up to them, slapping them in their faces, suing them for all it's worth and sending them to jail..ok, may be a little over the top, but hey, someone's gotta do it, right?

The condition of this earth is getting worse even as I type this entry..drains are being clogged up by people who throw rubbish into the drains, causing massive problems in proper drainage; people burning rubbish in front of their houses causing much smoke and air pollution; towns and roads being treated like a big rubbish dump when people throw their rubbish on the streets, not thinking of the way they're dirtying the environment and causing the workers to have so much to clean up after them like their babies...sigh..and people wonder why the earth is full of sickness and disease, all sorts of epidemics happening around the world, all sorts of new strains of viruses emerging..hello....open up your eyes.....

I guess much of it is ignorance..or maybe they're just lazy to do something about it..sigh..

Well, anyway, the main purpose for my post is this..the SAVE THE RHINO campaign..launched by HONDA to raise awareness to the declining number of Sumatran rhinos..why, you ask, do we have to be concerned for these big fat creatures?I mean, they're not even cute! Well, let me answer that. First of all, they are the smallest rhino's in the world. Secondly, they are the only rhinos in Malaysia. Check out this website, http://www.honda.com.my/rhino/, by Honda..it has some pretty cool facts bout these amazing creatures, and you can help spread the word by pasting this cute little 'logo' into your blog..Cute eh? Hehe..help save the environment and save the animals that inhabit this land with us..you can make a difference..let us pass down a world to the next generation, filled with the wonder of nature, not destroyed by the works of human hands..

Why do these animals face extinction, you ask. Well, most of it is because we destroy their habitat for construction purposes or gathering of raw materials, leaving them with little food to eat and no place to stay..then when they come into our territory, we shoot them down or put them in cages..another reason is illegal poaching, meaning capturing animals illegally with the purpose of selling them as exotic pets or for their meat, skin, organs that are of medicinal value..it's really sad to even think of the horrible pain the animals go through just to satisfy the wants of consumers..

I remember that one time where sharks were being caught for their fins..thats not even the bad part..the worst is when after they caught it, they chop off their fins, AND THREW THEM BACK INTO THE SEA!!That's just plain cruel..sharks will drown if they dont keep swimming, and it's kinda impossible to swim without their fins, wouldnt you say..

As for rhinos, they are captured and killed for their tusks, which are of medicinal values, according to Chinese' belief. They catch them, cut off their tusks, let them go, and they die a slow and painful death of infection..

How cruel can humans get..sigh..

Well, on a lighter note, here are some interesting facts bout how recycling can make a big difference to the environment...

1. Up to 60% of the rubbish that are thrown away can be recycled (do you know how much of resources that is??!!)
2. Global warming can alter fundamentally ONE THIRD of plants and animal habitats
3. Recycled paper produces about 73% LESS air pollution than if it was made from raw materials
4. ONE recycled tin can can save enough energy to power a television consecutively for THREE HOURS (Bet you didnt know THAT!!)
5. ONE recycled plastic bottle can save enough energy to power a 60 WATT LIGHT BULB for THREE HOURS continuously
6. Plastics take 500 YEARS to decompose (Thats a long time! why not just recycle it??!!)
7. ONE recycled bottle can save enough energy to power a COMPUTER for 25 minutes (put that energy to good use!!)
8. Glass is 100% recyclable and can be used OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER (you get my point) AGAIN

Now what do you say to that? Save energy, save the environment, reduce the use of raw materials, reduce the price of stuff...it's all good, yeah? Let's all do our part in saving the world=)

And knowing my umbrella..(can you even CALL it an umbrella??!!)..it turned inside out once the wind started blowing..*just great huh* it could not get any worse..or could it??IT DID..my umbrella started to leak INSIDE..could feel the rain drops dripping down my cheeks..sigh..but apparently is wasnt just my umbrella that was like that..even Ping's nice umbrella started to leak..the rain was SO HEAVY..my Nike shoes got soaked..*sob sob* my precious shoe...you could feel the water swishing inside the shoe..sigh...
